The opening show of Alameda Civic Light Opera's 2001 Summer Season, Cabaret was a racy, baudy, and somewhat controversial undertaking. Director/Choreographer Jeff Teague felt it was important to capture the spirit of 1930's Berlin in all its hedonism and debauchery, in an effort to accurately depict the atmosphere and events leading up to the tragic conclusion of this period in world history. The designs below were constructed from patterns from the 1920s. The underwear is either actually from the 20s or reconstructed using the same lines and patterns. This show is for rent from Cabbage Rose Costumes.
